Below, you will find some examples of projects and accomplishments aimed at improving access to Fench-language primary health care in Alberta.

Saint-Thomas Health Centre 2007 Le Centre de santé communautaire Saint-Thomas Health Centre will include a residence with assisted daily living and a bilingual community health centre. Thid primary health care centre will mainly serve the French-speaking seniors of the Edmonton region and the English community nearby. It is located in the heart of the Bonnie Doon neighbourhood. It will provide affordable housing to approximately 220 seniors. A gamut of health services and education will be provided in both French and English. Centre de santé Saint-Thomas (CSST)

This centre will offer a personalized service to an interprofessional health bilingual team as well as provide health education and health promotion programs.

Dialogue femmes francophones de l'Albert
( Dialogue French-speaking women of Alberta )

2006

"Dialogue femmes francophones de l'Alberta" is a study of needs of women based on the health determinants. A follow-up to the study will include priotization of actions to undertake with social services, government agencies and partners. Databases of services in French will then be set up.

Bilingual Nursing Degree

2004

Campus Saint-Jean created a Bilingual Nursing Degree program in partnership with the Faculty of Nursing of the University of Alberta. Sixteen students can be admitted each year.
