Réseau santé albertain

Welcome

The information contained in this site is aimed at:

  • the public;
  • Health Authorities;
  • health professionals;
  • francophone health groups;
  • francophone organizations and institutions in Alberta.

The information in this site is organized along the lines of the determinants of health model.

Interactions between the determinants of health affect all sectors of community activity, making health everyone’s business. This is why we have chosen to base the Réseau’s website on the metaphor of a community. The centers represent the main sectors of activity of Alberta’s multicultural francophone community.

This web site was created for many reasons:

1. To stimulate demand for health services in French for common illnesses.

Individuals will easily locate, through our directory of health professionals, the practitioners that offer health services in French for common illnesses.

2. To promote the offer of health services in French for common illnesses.

  • French-speaking health professionals will, without difficulty, register and update their profile in the directory.
  • They will also access information on professional development and participate in confidential peer counseling forums.
  • This database will allow Regional Health Authorities to identify health professionals capable of offering health services in French for common illnesses.

3. To encourage individual and group participation in health promotion projects.

The centers can provide information on projects and achievements in French that enhance the health and well-being of French-speaking communities in Alberta. This information is meant to:

  • share best practices;
  • elicit new project ideas;
  • stimulate a potential synergy between communities;
  • encourage individuals, groups, and organizations to become involved in current            projects, either as participants or learners;
  • encourage the diffusion of successful results to other communities.
